OK so here's the finshed piece. Just needs some framing. [To see a finished detail image, scroll down two posts.]

Since I've been back from CHI, I haven't really had time to set up and shoot a quality pic of the finished portrait of DMG. 13 and a half hour days at work sometimes have that affect, throwing off schedules and such, grrrr... But hopefully this week at some point.

In the meantime here's a little painting that I managed to turn out rather quickly based on a sketch I did while I was in Chicago. It went quickly because it's a mini: 2.5 x 3.5 inches (or the same size as a playing card). It was for a themed contest title "At the Beach".
The Stencilfest opened in Melbourne on May 18th. I haven't heard to much as of yet about the turnout or anything, but here's two pics from opening night that I came across.

Here's a section of the finished version. I didn't have proper lighting today to get a good pic of the whole painting, so I'll hold off on posting that. Just need to put a coat of matte varnish over it and that's it.

ps. there won't be any update next week because I'll be in ChicagoRockCity.
