girl from mars / final This is pretty close to the final draft of my Girl from Mars. More glazes were applied to get her to the state you see here. Small brushes + mixes of water, matte acrylic medium and paint + patience... The panel she's on is quite large if you remember from a few posts earlier. So really I'm still at the start of this piece.

Other than what you see on the right, I've spent a lot of time the last few weeks revising this text layout. This is the final draft. I'll take a pic of what this was used for and post it next week.

girl from mars? So here's state two of the little painting bit that I'd posted last week. Lots of glazes of acrylic built up over the black background. I dunno why but it reminds me of the Misfits...

"We are the angel mutants
The streets for us seduction
Our cause unjust and ancient
In this "B" film born invasion

Teenagers from Mars
And we don't care
Teenagers from Mars
And we don't care
"

hmm. whatever.

panel one, sketch one First draft on the panel. Same black-on-black sorta feel that I was working around on that other piece I did a month or so ago. Drawn from the sketch I posted last week, this is all acrylic.

Just a rough state that hasn't even made it to the revision process yet. That's about all I got to this week. mm hm.

painted drawer panels Here's the start of a new project. Over on the right you see the first (lower panel) and second state (upper panel) of a couple of found drawers I'd scavenged from the streets. These are the same type of drawer panels that I used for my Hangman stencil awhile back.

The drawers were painted over with gesso, then the mitered cuts were sprayed with blue spray paint. After that I covered the surface with black gesso making sure not to get any within the recessed cuts. The black and 'electric' blue combo sort of reminds me Tron... you too?

and then here's a quick sketch.
